A detachment of fleeing Boko Haram terrorists has attacked a Borno community, killing at least 29 persons, a local official said.
The Chairman of Mussa Youth Association, Sunday Waba, told our correspondent in a telephone conversation in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, that the insurgents launched the attack on the village while fleeing from a nearby area.
He said they shot sporadically at people in the village in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of the state.

Waba said, “They (insurgents) have killed 29 people and burnt down about 200 houses in our town.”
He said the attackers arrived the community at about 1pm and left at about 3pm.
A member of the youth vigilante group, Suleiman Idris, who confirmed the incident, said some of the assailants were in vehicles.
Boko Haram has intensified attacks on communities in the troubled North-East state in the last few days, killing over 150 people.
